I grew up in a beach town (no, it wasn't Santa Monica) so I've always felt this song has hit close to home. It's an anthem of sorts for me. I remember days sitting in my ratty blue pickup parked at the point. The ocean is so therapeutic. Looking back, I could have spent more time on the beach. Someday, I'll leave the rat race of the city and settle in a home near the oceanside to "watch the world die".
